Is it okay to eat this?

Okay, you take those rice cakes (i think that's what they are called). Those round, white, cakes, made from rice?

Anyways, I take those, and spread quite a bit of peanut butter on it, and eat about 3 of them. Is this okay??? Too fattening?

Fattening I hate that word. It's as simple as this. If you take in more cals than you can burn off you gain weight. If you take in less than you can burn off you lose weight. No if's and's or butt's about it thats it.

    not that simple

firstly terinox, are they white rice cakes? if so, they are very very high GI, so not really good for u. if you can get, get teh brown ones made from brown rice - a whole lot better. also remember that normally each rice is cake is about 8-9g carbs, depending on size. 3 cakes is around 25g carbs - allright if u are on a low to moderate carb diet. now the peanut butter : its good, and an excellent source of both protein and good fats. BUT! please make sure its all natural peanut butter. I have seen so many people buy things like black cat and skippy peanut butter without checking their label and actually realising that like half of the fat in them is from added vegetable oil plus theres a lot of salt in them. pure peanut butter without any additives is the way to go - and for variation try get things like pecan butter, almond butter etc. (can get from specialised health shops).

    hope this helps!

ps. about the carbs - its just like bread: white bread is refined and treated etc. so its bad, wholewheat is ok.

Also - it sounds like a yummy snack, but I would make sure that you didn't consume it too late in the day. It seems like a good snack for a mid morning snack or about an hour before your workout.

As xenithon says, make sure it's NATURAL pb and brown rice cakes would be much better. If you're unable to find brown rice cakes, I would just eat 2 rather than 3 of the white ones.

If you're trying to lean down, unless you're eating quite a bit of carbs in your other meals of the day, then I wouldn't worry about the carbs in the rice cakes and peanut butter. Make sure you don't get too generous with the amount of peanut butter you spread on the cakes either

If it were only that simple. While this may be true in a way. What becomes fat and what doesn't isn't quite so simple.

Rice cakes with peanut butter. Sounds very tasty. Lots of fat and lots of carbs. It will be great if you are trying to add weight. Have you changed your goals Terronox?

He won't gain weight if he watches carb and fat intake at other meals, and if he eats it early enough in the day ...

You diet DOES need to consist of SOME fat, and the fat with natural peanut butter is fine...but like I told him, don't be too generous with it.

Now if he ate cheese pizza for a snack, then I think we'd have to worry about him puttin on a few pounds....

2-3 brown rice cakes with natural pb early enough in the day will not make him fat at all.

Yeah, i'm still trying to cut. Took Clen this morning, shaking like mad I guess that's kind of a good sign!

I will ease off of the rice cake and the peanut butter. I will just eat one or two rice cakes alone, with nothing on it

    Thnx for the help.

terinox rice cake by themselves are worst then if you would add peanut butter on them, adding fat to a meal actually cuts the insuline spike, i remeber that tc luma in the mm2000 made some test on himself to see the insuline spike on a couple of meals.

He ate a plain bagel and tested is blood then couple hours later ate another bagel with peanut butter, is insuline response was a lot lower with the addition of fat.

If you wanna cut up dont eat anything that can cause your insuline to go to high, i am probably the less discipined person to give you advise, i would kill for ice cream but to tell you the thrut if you can cut out all the foods that raise insuline to a higher level then the results are gonna be worth while.

You should ask BigKev about that stuff. He did some research on that when he was taking insulin ....very thorough research it looked like to me...... spirals with words all over them! PM him...he'd be more than happy to help ya out !

This somewhat true, but what you need to do is avoid spikes in insulin levels.

That's a good question, I guess kind of lean out, but still keep good muscle. I'm on Clen , but sometimes I get sloppy with the diet. I want to lower body fat I suppose, and gain solid muscle. Easier said then done
