this might seem like a stupid question but someone told me that you should be weighing chicken before it is cooked... is this true?

well, restaurants and such list all their meat weights frozen. for example, if you go to a steakhouse, and order a 12oz steak, its 12 oz before its cooked, less after. I don't see any need to do it in the home, unless you are really hardcore about diet.
