How does protein help you bulk and cut? Its stupid I know but just dont quite get it. It would seem like you would need less to cut and more to bulk. But its the same either way. Im confused![]()

Protein promotes muscle growth whether that muscle be lean mass or bulking up, the surrounding diet either cutting/bulking does the rest. It goes a bit deeper than protein, you have to take into account macros etc..
If someone bulks up and gains alot of muscle and then literally stops taking in the amount of protein needed to retain that muscle, they will begin losing those gains.
I am not the best at explaining this type of thing but i believe this is correct? Some bros on here will jump in and explain it further....
