    oatmeal

Yeah I have a simple question...When people say they eat a cup or half cup or whatever of oatmeal I assume that means prepared? Or just straight oats? Because that seems pretty damn gross...if that is the case what do you eat it with?

when someone says a cup of oats they measure uncooked... but that does mean that they eat it uncooked...., although some chop up raw oats in blender and add to a shake. But anyway measure your oats uncooked and then prepare them to your liking.

I eat mine cooked up for breakfast with a protein shake, and when it starts to get a little old or bland I might add a little splenda.

o and another question...When everybody says egg whites...does that mean you guys boil your eggs and then just peel it off or what?

Yes. Dont follow box serving sizes though. Find the amount that fits your diet and needs the best.

here is what i do, get some good tasting protein powder, warm up some water in the mocrowave, when its good and hot add a couple scoops of protein and some hot chocolate mix (swiss miss no fat or no sugar is good) then pour that into your oatmeal and cook it just a little longer. hell i eat it every morning.

You seperate the whites from the yolks b4 you cook them.

And Blackstang, don't put sugar in your oats, use splenda instead.

wrong again. you don't want to add simple carb sources to your oatmeal in the morning. cinnamon is fine.

So I assume you use a strainer or something to separate?

crack the egg right down the middle, and transfer the yolk from one side to the next until all the white is in the bowl and the yolk is still in the shell. If you still don't get it, do a search on the web like, "seperating egg whites" and don't get caught up on some stupid device that does it for you, they're a waste of $. It's too easy to do w/ nothing but your hands and the egg.

We're not supposed to mix complex and simple carbs? Never heard of doing this before

I would think it's best to ingest simple carbs(dextrose) PWO, as this is the only time you will benefit from an insulin spike. The rest of the carbs you eat should be complex and very close to the farm(not processed).
