    Is this amount of Dex too small?

    PWO I take a 50g ON whey shake and I was using the advised 100g Dex. I can't do it anymore, it's just too sweet. I've been forcing it down and now I'm to the point that I might start vommiting if i continue. If I cut it down to 50g Dex/50g protein (which I can stomach) would I be wasting my time and money or is it better then nothing.
    It's weird really. Flax, fish oils, Dex before. Nothing ever bothered me but all of a sudden I can't even think about 100g dex without getting an upset stomach.

    This may seem weird but before I started ordering plain old Whey for my PWO shake I was using ON AfterMax whihc has 40 grams for Malto. I would then throw in some Dex and it tasted friggin great. Then I switched to just Whey and had to use alot mroe Dex and I had the same initial reaction, it was way too sweet. I got used to it and now i wait for it all day long! Sorry its not the same for you but maybe try a 50/50 blend of malto and dex and that might make it more bearable. When I was using the malto/dex mix it was alot less sweet than just regular dex. Hope that helps!

    I seperate the protein and carb drinks pwo my whey is just whey and water but my carb drink is great! I put in one scoop of gatorade powder(33g. dex) and the rest in normal dex powder, tastes like kool-aid!

    I do something similar besides I have non-flavored protein whey to throw into the gatoraid/dex drink so I only have to drink one.

    Why in the world would you think you would be wasting your money?

    There's nothing wrong with that, but if your current diet calls for 100g carbs post workout then just have your 50/50 shake and eat something with 50 grams of carbs in it.

    I really like the idea of splitting the shake and using the gatorade power and dex. I think that I could do that for sure and handle it much better. I think my stomach turns at the thought of that super sweet chocolate mix. Thanks for the idea!

    use 50g dextrose and 50g malto. Malto is almost tasteless.

    I just put half dex in with my protein then drink some crystal light...(the ones with maltodextrin) as the ingredient...

    Seriously, that gatorade idea was great. It really does taste like coolaide.

    just use malto instead of dex, doesnt really add any sweetness and accomplishes the same thing.
