It depends on what you're looking for. If you wanna bulk up rice is a good source of carbs and has some good calories. If you're looking to slim down I wouldn't eat rice at all IMO just because they're are better choices like oatmeal. But overall rice tastes good and is pretty healthy so keep on eatin'.

I eat all kinds of rice and im leaning up just fine....

IMO the key is not to have carbs when your gonna be inactive.

Cardio is the key to getting lean quick, not what type of rice u eat. I do 30-45 mins of raquetball a day (2 games) after my workout with my lifting partner 6 days a week.

Well works for me anyway, i wont buy into that no carb crap anymore and be flat for my workouts as long as my BF keeps dropping.. Hehe sorry for the rant, had to vent

I live in Thailand so it's pretty damn hard NOT to eat rice every day. (In Thai, 'to eat' is 'gin khao' or litterally, 'eat rice.' For Thais, eating is synonymous with eating rice!)

I agree w/ Diesel. Rice is a great carb and can be eaten every day. If you want to bulk, eat a lot. If you want to lose weight, eat less. No rocket sicence required!

It's not that I think rice is bad when cutting up, I just think oatmeal is a better choice. It seems that when I eat rice no matter how much I eat I always feel hungry like an hour after I ate. Thus I have cravings and tend to "cheat" when dieting. With oatmeal it's real satisfying and doesn't leave me feeling hungry. So maybe I'm just weird, but that's what BB's all about right?

Rice seems to be one of the foods that I can get tired of very quick. But usually if my mom makes fried rice with soy sauce I can down it pretty.I more of a fan of potatoes and pasta

Love rice...been a staple since I started training in college. Also eat a lot of oatmeal. 3rd way I get my carbs is through frosted mini wheats...just can't resist!!!

I love rice, but try to cut back. When I lived in Japan, it was difficult not to eat rice...especially wen I married a local! But now, since I dont have to deal with either of them I do not eat it as much. I agree with most of the posts here...you need some carbs, rice is a good source, and can go with most anything.

I usually have rice and beans. Though I'm careful to eat smaller amounts now.

Not everyday, but usually every other day. I alternate it with some kind of pasta, usually vermicelli or linguini.

I guess Spanish. Yellow or white rice with black beans (Cuban style) is my favorite. I also eat red beans, chick peas, all kinds.

Mexican is usually with refried beans and the rice has little red and green peppers. Not really into that style it gives me heartburn.

Even though I am a Lily-white American boy, nothing beats Cuban cooked black beans over par-boiled rice....known by Cubans as "Morros" I believe.

Yummy ! Makes me hungry just thinking about it.
