Unhappy lose fat not size and muscle???

For someone who trains natural if he wants to look big he has to eat a lot, and often what comes is a fat belly, could someone please give me tricks to get ride of that and keep all the size and strenght that i have worked so hard to achieve.

I have managed to get my weight up to 215 pounds , i am 5 feet 10, i dieted not long ago and went down to 203, my lifts all surrered, i lose mass and strenght.

I dont mind losing some fat but i would really like to be the heaviest possible without that ugly belly.

    Thanks everybody and great design.

Angry thing i forgot to mention

I am not a big junk food eater, i like to eat low fat popcorn and thats about it.

I dont eat pizza, fries, hamburgers and all.

I try to keep it simple.

The hardest thing is to cut back on sugar, i have lots of these cravings.

I found that drinking green tea can help a little bite and i have a big breakfast in the morning,,, is it ok to take in more carbs in the moring, i eat a muffin and wheat bread, with egg whites and turckey???

    thanks again

Drop the sugar! That will give you the gut more than anything else you are eating. Up the fat, especially olive and flax. Loose the weight very slowly and up your protein to 1.5-2 grms per lb. You can eat carbs in the morning, and you will need carbs to fuel your training. Just do it in moderation. It is very difficult to build muscle and loose weight at the same time: just work hard to build muscle, eat smart, do your cardio and the weight will come off - but slowly. Anything fast will zap your strength as you know.

    Keeping gains

    Hey man,
I know what you mean. Keeping body fat down with minamal muscle loss is hard, but it can be done. It seems that you have the basics down, I don't have to mention eating 5 or 6 meals a day instead of the average three. If you really want to keep your cravings for sugar down you can do it through substition. I read somewhere that such cravings can be brought on by a lack of a certain enzyme in the body and there is somthing that you can take to combate it. I know that this is really not an answer, but when I get home I will look up the info and re-post the results.(I'm at work right now)Keep your cardio up! And remeber that there are several different kinds of sugars ( Fruitose, glucose @ surcrose??) that you can get from a varity of different foods. Salt tends to make you retain water and appear puffer than you really are so stay away from that as well. I'll get back with on the other later this afternoon.
    Later,
    Tobey

Thumbs up is it a good thing to stop eating carbs after 6 pm

Would it be a good thing to stop eating carbs after 6 pm???

I will try to eat less carbs. Eating between 180 grams and 200.

I dont know if this will be ok.

A lot of people dont eat carbs after 6 pm but there is no scientific evidence for this. But there is evidence that not eating 2 hours before bed will raise your growth hormone levels, and that is really what you want in order to loose weight. If you are training at night you definitely need carbs after your workout.

Gosh you are one of the lucky ones that has a problem gaining weight it sounds like. Yeah I admit it is hard to eat alot and keep off the belly and the fat. I trick my body, by putting it into shock sometimes. someone on this board said eat 180-200 grams of carbs a day? Whew that is alot of carbs. Man. I can't see myself eating that many carbs. What I will sometimes do though is eat minimum carbs one day, (usually on the days I don't train) then the day I do train carb up, and my body seems to be stimulated and I have more energy. I don't do that often, but keeping carbs down as much as you can, seems to really work for me in keeping the weight off. I used to have that problem, with eating al whole bunch to get big, problem was I got big, now I had a hard time getting it off once I stopped working out. How I did it, was, go on a real strict diet to loose the fat, then start bulking up by lowering my carbs, and upping my protein. Just watch what kind of calories you eat. remember what you dont' burn off or your body doesn't use, it will turn into something, (usually fat). Good luck bro. HOpe this helps. But this is what worked for me.

hi there. i have to agree with all the posts, suggestions like not eating carbs from about 4-5 hours before sleep, protein shake before bed etc. My addition is that you should try chromium. It is an insulin mimicer/regulator. What happens is that your insuline levels jump up and down like a wave on an oscilliscope. When it reaches the bottom crest, you get a craving, when it reaches the top, you have no energy etc. Chromium picolinate controls the insulin levels and keeps it constant throughout the day so you have no cravings, and at the same time it helps your body use up sugars before they turn into fat. My suggestion : try some of it, take like 200mg in the morning, see how it goes, push it up if needed to anywhere between 500 and 700mg, always in the morning, not more.

    hi there,

yeah, its quite a common product. I dunno if it is sold as a genereic OTC, but many companies, including nutrition supplement companies have it eg. Universal, Optimum etc. Just go to any pharmacy and ask for it and they will have it for sure
