Thanks PaPa.
I am going to be starting threads soon as what, when, and how to even pick the right BB contest. It has been over 10 years since I stepped on stage.

i dont see how u guys can get that much protein at each meal.....i mean do u eat 20 oz steaks at every meal? when i try to eat huge i might get like 200 grams if that. eating that much protein seems like it would get expensive

K.K.
You don't just all of a sudden start eating 400-600g of protein per day. You start at like 1g per lb, and that is PLENTY for a while. . .then you bump it, and all of a sudden you got 5 more lbs with no change in bodyfat...and so on. And yes, it does get expensive. . .damn expensive.

Sorry to change the tone. But I have read that starches and protiens are not meant to be mixed to gether because protien needs an acidic environment to be digested fully, whereas starches need an alkiline environment. Therefore if you put them in together you don't get good adsorption ande this leads to giving you wind. This makes bobybuilders diets sound bad. Is this BULL SH*T or not? It sounds like it I just wondered if anyone knows for sure.

actually there are a number of theories. the one I stick by is that you should eat carbs and protein together because each causes release of a cerain hormone/enzyme, and if only 1 is produced it kicks you slighly out of homeostasis

Loooong time ago. I was 19 and I entered a show in Cape Cod. It was a 'last minute' thing. Of course at 19 I didn't need as much preparation time as I would now. My metabolism was much higher then.

Between 300 and 400 grams. Not gaining weight. Not trying to either!
