Protein shake on a full stomach

I'm an ectomorph. My metabolism is fast. I'm trying to gain weight. I usually have my last feed about 8pm. This is usually about 100g carbs 50g protein 15-25g fat.

My question is this - bed time at 10pm, still feeling a bit full, should I neck a protein shake or not?

    I'm thinking I should......

Never neck with a protein shake, there are laws against such things.

    Women are much better too!

On a serious note, your lack of ability to gain weight is not going to be remedied by this one meal or addition of a shake or not. It will however be remedied by having a nutritional protocol that supports growth efforts around the clock, not just in one meal.

i used to be a hardgainer, and in some respects, still am. i have always taken either a casein protein shake (for the slow acting digestion), or several eggs. low fat and low carbs. make sure youre shake is not whey protein, as it wont help against catabolic effects over 8 hours of sleep. leave the whey for prior to and after workouts.

I have a Miccelean shake (2 scoops) with 1 tbsp of flax oil in water right before bed.

Cool - I know that, it is part of a few tailorings I am intending to make.

Thanks for the help again, guys.

Any other ideas for slow-acting protein shakes?

slow acting protein = casin or whey + flax oil

if your a hardgainer yes have a shake before bed. 40+ gram protein with some flax oil. if your really a hard gainer than have another in the middle of the night!! dont be a pussy start eating like a man!!
