Hi all, i know that many people advocate separating fats and carbs, i was just wondering what the scientific reasons behind this is.

yeah basically when u eat carbs ur insulin is spiked , and when u have fats theres its easier to get stored since insulin does that.

Bump. Any more reasons behind this? Aren't fats absorbed a lot more slowly, so they wouldn't be hitting the blood stream at the same time?
Insulin raises LPL levels which is the main eyzme responsible for adipose storage, add fat in the mix and you have a greater chance of storing fat. There are many arguments on this subject and there appears to be no diffinitive answer, not much in the way of proof for either side mainly just anecdotal evidence.
mix high carbs with moderate fat and youll definately notice that your storing fat over time.

By high carbs you mean high glycemic right? Not "high" as in amount/grams of carbs.
Although that would certainly come into play too.

I have carbs, fats and pro in every meal except PW.....just pick the right fats and carbs and youll be fine.....oats and pb, flax and veggies, etc.......
i mean both, as in amount and gi.
