yeah bro they are healthy a decent source of Omega 3 fat. I do not eat them regularaly, I do not feel they are essential.
Kull
Kull is right, they are a good source of omega 3 fatty acids, however, they're 97% fat. My suggestion is that you eat your ass off and you'll get plenty of fat. In other words, don't go out of your way to find fat sources. Trust me, they'll find you. Omega's are good but as long as you're eating plenty of tuna and fish (like most bodybuilders do) you'll get plenty of Omega 3's.
Just for the record
Avocado's contain......
Servings 1 (fresh)
324 calories
15 carbs
31 grams fat
4 grams of protein

Just in case you wanted to know the exact figures.
Tobey
Very high in LDL cholesterol (the good kind of cholesterol) and they're TASTY!
Just wanted to make a correction. HDL (high density lipoproteins) are the good kinds of cholesterol, not LDL (low density lipoprotein). I have no idea what kinds of cholesterol are in avacado's but if they are high in LDL's just keep that in mind.
damn - sorry my mistake - I had meant to say HDL which I believe is in avacados (HDL suppossedly carries excess cholesterol away from the arteries to the liver and is the GOOD kind)
