Whats The Lowdown On Carb Manipulation

Would I be right in saying that when carbs are cut of an eating plan the main point in this is to:

Prevent insulin spikes which cause a sudden drop in blood sugars and encourage bad eating, along with transporting fat e.t.c

lead to a lower muscle or liver glycogen content(which one)??? and as a result of the muscle/liver glycogen running out the body turns to fat &muscle for its energy..How do you prevent catabolism in this state????

And surely on a low carb diet your muscles will not grow!!!!

Can someone outline the stages of what happens when droping carbs, what goes on within the body?????

    This is really confusing me

Your muscle will not grow on any diet. The purpose of carb manipulation is the eat them when they are optimally utilized by the body. Not to lower carbs. The idea is to keep blood sugar levels steady, and not spike them, this can siply be accomplished with the types of carbs one eats.
