    Red face Stupid question

When you guys are writing down everything you ate in the day how accurate are your macros?... As you can probally tell from my threads im really trying to get my diet down perfect(b4 i ever consider any aas)... and in the course of charting my food sometimes i have to guesstimate the proteins in the lean ground beef and the chicken that i buy in bulk! (The foods that dont have any nutriton facts on them) ... my mom actually use tocompete so she gives me a rough estimate for what theyd be.. but i wanna try to get accuarte.... I wwent around trying to find a food scale but couldnt find one.... Do you think its nessecary that i get one to know exactly what im taking in(noncompetitor)?... And whats the best type/place to get one?

    Thanks bros

there are online sources that have the macros of most food,
    http://www.calorie-counter.net/nutri...es-in-food.htm
i found this one real quick, there are better ones out there, it's just an example. I use software called fitness assistant and it has a large database of foods, there are other types of software that work the same way, there very helpful, saves loads of time.

Try www.calorieking.com - you can research the nutritional value of any food and by serving amount.

    For meat serving sizes:

1 oz. meat: size of a matchbox
3 oz. meat: size of a deck of cards or bar of soap
8 oz. meat: size of a thin paperback book
3 oz. fish: size of a checkbook

I use a scale/measuring cup/whatever as appropriate, but meats are easy because the store puts a pretty accurate weight right on the package.

If you have a PDA, you can use Pocket Diet Tracker. It works great, over 6,000 foods in a database included, and you can add your own. Just simply select what you ate, how much, and continue on. At the end of the day you can look at what you ate, and it will give you reports over certain time periods.
