    wth are "Net" Carbs?

I bought some whole wheat tortillas and the carb count is 31g per slice. On the front they advertise its only 10 "net" carbs. What does that mean? When I add my carbs up for the day, is it 31g or 10g each slice?

    thanks

You subtract Fiber from your total carb count, as it is not digestable.

It also may refer to the sugar alcohols that are metabolized differently than carbs. They must report them as carbs, but if you are watching your carbs you don't have to count them.

Ok good, so only the "net" carbs count against my daily carb intake?
