once a week. Usualy on saturday or friday.
Last cheatday I ate a big bag of potatoe chips. A big serving of pasta and super fat pasta sauce, 2 big servings of lasagne, a big bag of mixed candy, 4 danish uhhh...there was something more aswell that I cant remember.
I usually eat only one cheat meal a week of anything i want.
Sometimes i go a cheat MEAL every week, sometimes i don't. I haven't had one in 2 weeks and had one last night - it consisted of chicken breast (like i always have), salada with olive oil (like i always have) and ready for the cheat part: 2 pieces of garlic bread.
it was SO worth it. oh yeah and some air popped popcorn for desert.
I need to cheat once aweek, eat 3 bags of crisps, 1 bar of choc and a meal whatever i want, favourite chicken Korma mmmmm. then back on the wagon. but i have been known to go on abit of a bender over the years which knocks me back aweek so a try not to let it happen to often. but im still young have to enjoy me sel.
Im like bcap, its a cheat meal, not a whole day. And it's never really that bad. I may have a serving of bread, or cheese on something. Although my big big weakness is gummi bears. So occasionally I'll have some of those![]()
yeah i don't see a point in having a whole cheat day, it ends up putting you back like 4 days, which means for every 7 days you work so hard, you end up only getting 3 days progress out of it.
i usually don't even have a cheat meal unless i HAVE to (i.e. a special occasion, i'll have something like a piece of bread)
I have a cheat meal once or twice a week, and usually is a couple slices of pepperoni pizza.
The strange thing about it is that the day after I'm usually at a lower bodyfat%.
I'm on a pretty low cal diet so I'm not sure whats going on, but its a pretty consistent thing that my bf is lower the day after a cheat meal. The only thing I can think of is that my body, being in a caloric deficit, knowing its not getting alot of calories is preserving as much energy (bodyfat) as it can. Then when I give it a high calorie food it thinks, "oh, now I'm getting more food so I can burn some extra stored energy." Something similar to metabolic trickery where you have a high calorie high carb day once every four days while on a low calorie low carb diet.
Does this make sense or anybody or am I crazy?

it depends on wether you're cutting or bulking really...Originally Posted by DBflash21

Dont you guys feel one meal just makes the cravings worse??
Just having one meal would make me crazy.
Offcourse Im not that concern anymore about a cheat day setting me back a bit. Im in no rush and I enjoy food as much as I enjoy beeing in shapeits a equal tradeoff to me.

I cheat every day right now. When I'm bulking I'll eat anything, just make sure to get my protien intake too, other than that it's game on.
when it comes to candy, potatoe chips, fast food, icecream ect Im like a alcoholic. I cant just have a little. I got to have it all.
The way I look at it, is like, Im working so hard, and eating so clean all week, why do I want to just gorge myself for a whole day and blow it all? Id rather just keep my cheat to one meal...besides, I dont know about you guys, but if you eat clean all the time, then eat something that's really greasy or high fat, I get super sick.Originally Posted by johan

my view is that I love good food so much that I would be seriously taking away one of the greatest joys of my life if I stopped having cheat days.Originally Posted by Cardio Kitten

geller imo(strictly my oppinion) one simple rule of thumb is have a full cheat day as long as you can get away with it.

I'm on a lean diet right now, trying to gain lean muscle, and this is the first time I've been on a strict diet, when I was in highschool I use to eat very poorly, so it's been rather hard changing to this lifestyle. Saturday is a reward for working hard all week. I don't think having a bowl of ice cream, or some home made cookies is really gonna hurt me that much. I should have clarified above...I don't make a day out of it, normally just 1 meal, or some snacks. I noticed above that you guys said you will eat a piece of bread, what's wrong with bread? like wheat bread?
I like muffins on cheat day...blueberry
and it's not usually sick out of my mouthOriginally Posted by Cardio Kitten

dbflash, i was talking about a nice piece of garlic bread - mmm. that was quite the cheat for me. usually the only carbs i have is pre workout (oats), pwo shake (dex) and ppwo (oats) so having osme bread with dinner IS a cheat for me
then you must be cutting..........when I cut, I'm clean 7 days a week.........when I bulk, well, its fair game.Originally Posted by bcap
l priest - definetly AM cutting, in fact i'm going through a transformation (check out my 12 week transformation thread), really changing my body, so the cheats just won't work with me! i don't want to look like I used to, cheating only brings me closer to that.
no need to cheat if you have discipline.
You dont need it......cheat as often as youd like when you bulk and then it will be out of your system when you cut.......
BTW- havent had fast food, pizza, etc. for at least 5 years......

Nah, thats why I'm always under 10%
I usualyl cheat on saturdays. Last saturday I went to McDonald and ate 4 hamburgers some fries and a diet coke. Later I had marshmellows, liquorice, potato chips, garlic bread and a couple of big slices of banana cake made by my sister.
For this saturday I'm thinking pepperoni pizza is going to be a part of my cheating day. Also hae some chokolate bars and some potato chips left over from last week.
Another favorite of mine would be to to to a restaurant and order the brunch buffet and hit it like there is no tomorrow![]()
I couldn't tell you the last time I was over 10% either, but when I'm bulking a large pizza, or a Monster Thickburger hits the Spot!Originally Posted by L.Priest

Oh there's nothing wrong with bread, I just choose to get most of my carbs from oats, sweet potatoes, brown rice, stuff like that. If I were to eat bread in a cheat meal, it's like a piece of bread in addtion to the chicken, brown rice, and broccoli im already eating.Originally Posted by DBflash21

Seriously, I feel like hell if I eat anything with grease in it. I can't say I don't have my cheat days, but dark chocolate is my weaknessOriginally Posted by Cardio Kitten

I am kinda new to the eating right thing...only been doing it properly for a good 2 months or so. But when i cheat...i end up going overboard, so i try not to cheat... like last week i woke up... ate a dozen donuts (yes by myself) with some milk... then a good 12 hours later i ate crazy bread and a large cheese pizza. Again...all by myself :P
