    Im going to INCREASE my cals for cutting

    STATS:
    6'
    210
    been training for 5 years and bulking since day 1.
    BF % 14-18.
    I know thats a big diff but its based on what other members say based on pics from others that have a similar physique.

    Right now i kinda eat the minimum to maintain weight and sometimes its not great food, a half assed dirty bulk for lack of a better term

    Any way I would like to tighten up a bit for summer and my friends wedding in june. Do any of you guys actually increase your cals to strip body fat.

    Since im a natural ecto I thought if I clean up my diet, incorporate some cardio twice a week and up the cals Ill be able to achieve what I want. I got the idea out of this months flex mag. Gunter says when prepping for the olympia he increases his cals to actually gain muscle during his dieting phase. I know he is not natural which I am but it seemed to make since,

    im all natty also and i up my cals for my cuttin just based upon my own needs....i doign cardio 45 mins 5-6 days a week adn work out 6 days a week also and for my cutting i dont change much but make my diet really really clean trying to get good low GI carbs at the right times and all....and that alwasy cuts me up really nice...jsut a thought and let u kno i tired the same thing and it worked for me

    First I deff wouldn't say at anything over 10% BF you're an ectomorph. True ecto's can literally eat crap all day long for years and not gain weight.

    List your current diet so we can see what's going in right now and we can critique and tweek as needed.

    Hmm my diet give or take id say

    MEAL 1.
    4 whole eggs
    2-3 slices deli thin ham
    1/4 cup shredded chedder
    salsa and ketchup on top
    2-3 med. new potatoes or a cup of oatmeal

    MEAL 2
    Grilled Chicken Breast
    2 cups of frozen veggies (Broc, carrots, peppers, squash, etc.)
    1 bag of Liptons seasoned rice or pasta stuff, Probably equals about 2 cups cooked

    MEAL 3.
    Wt Gain shake
    approx 500 cals
    with about 55 grams protein. This is usually consumed at work which is a supplement store sometimes I have a pro shake with these carb gel packs that runners and cyclist eat during events, this will also equal about 5oo cals

    Pre workout/during workout
    32 0z gatorade

    PWO/meal 4
    2 scoops of whey/egg protein
    and 1 scoop of gatorade concentrate mixed together
    aprox 445 cals.

    Meal 5
    REG DAY
    2 grilled chicken breast
    2 cups mixed veggies again
    1 cup sweet potatoes

    CHEAT DAY
    Crap from pizza hut, taco bell, wendy's whatever,

    Definately not a cutting diet there..take a look at the cutting stickie for further insight.

    You have the basic idea down but when cutting it is best to seperate fats/carbs IMO especially when you first begin cutting. Cardio Cardio and more Cardio will be your best friend when cutting.

    Your main source of carbs should come in PWO and PPWO other than that its pro/fat. I would start out around 2500kCals or so (just guessing) and drop as you hit plateaus.

    I read the sticky on sepperating fat/carbs. I don't think thats a big deal because if your diet is somewhat in check your carbs should be low g.i. except for pwo. so any fat in your meal shouldn't be stored because the carbs most of us choose dosent ellicit a huge slin spike. Just seems complicated.

    Also how do you come up with 2500 cals, I mean if I have been maintaining on 3500 a day, dont you think that might be a bit low?

    cut that in half IMO...for recovery...you may also try posting your WO in the WO questions forum...

    Not sure why you think your the only one in this thread...I will address anyone anytime I want without yours or anyone elses permission...but yes I wasnt paying attention and I said something to him...The same questions are asked over and over again so eventually I stopped paying attention to certain things (usernames)...People dont want to listen and read up on their question...they have to ask ask talk talk...thats all they know to do...
