    pwo REAL food!

    so I was thinking that instead of whey and dex for post workout nutrition, I could go with like two grilled chicken breasts, lets say 10 or 12 0z, and a big baked potato, with maybe some green veges. Would this be ok for pwo, as far as pro/carb ratio. by the way, im just trying to stay somewhat lean, not get crazy shreaded, just trying to look good.

    Thats fine, but you will still want to take a quick digesting Whey shake after you are done. Then you can follow with the rest.

    oh ok, gotcha. But wouldnt that be a little too much protein at one time, not that I care about the amount of protein, I can down that much easy with no problems, but I dont wanna waste the protein if my body cannot digest it all.

    ditto, the reason many of us take shakes after a workout is to get the protein to your muscles as fast as possible, a shake will be broken down and delivered quicker then whole foods

    personally i like to eat my "real food" about 45-1hr after my pwo shake.

    oh, ok so have the protein shake by itself, then about 45 minutes later eat the whole food, with carbs and all???

    Na you don't have to wait that long. Just make sure the first thing you get in you in your Whey shake.

    you the man!! Can that chicken be dipped in a little b b que sauce since it has some sugar for pwo??? I know it would not be great for cutting, but I do not think it would make me fat by any means.

    Yup, good advice. I think he said he was gonna have baked potato, whihc would be fine.

    Then I'd follow up with some Cottage Cheese and Flax before bed time!
