can i check my owm bf?

can I check my body fat using a tape measure or some other common tools? I live in a small town and the gym does not have a way to check it. Cant afford a doctor visit right now.

you will not get an accurate measurement...save money to get an accurate measurement if you care about it

you cant do it your self you need either, a Tineta scale, or BF calipers to figuer bf% it is best to do both and then avarage the two togather, im sure your gym has some calipers or something to use.

i was using a body fat caliper while cutting and found it ok. I now am bulking and only taking note of my waist with a measuring tape. If a see an increase in waist i take action by lowering the carbs.

a good pair of calipers will do the trick. if you get a good set, which doesn't cost more than $20-30, and use the measurements for all 4 sites on your body, the deviation for error is only about 1/2%, so that's all you really need.
search the web and you'll find plenty of places you can buy them if you don't think you'll be able to locally.

just use calipers... but don't take the measurement to heart as your actual body fat.

More as a reference to compare it to from one week to the next. That way you can tell if you're getting fatter. More or less don't even it convert it to bodyfat but just keep it in mm or whatever gross measurements the calipers take.

Hope that makes sense. Good luck.
