I believe the reccomended amount is about 25g. I'm thinking that's based on a 2,000 cal diet. That would be a good starting point.
Supplementing a portion of your daily intake would be fine. But of course coming from foods is optimal.

Miz- check metamucil . com. You can enter your stats/diet and it will give you your RDA.
If they are chewable I'd imagine you could swallow them. You could also grab a fiber drink. Or look into Psyllium husks caps.Originally Posted by Mizfit

metamucil sugar free! orange flavor isn't bad.
personally i find "citricell" to be the best.no gas and bloating.hope this helps...

Try the Metamucil pills. They work good. 5 a day is the recommendation on the bottle.
