cottage cheese or milk for pre-bedtime meal?

wondering if it makes much difference considering they're both primarily casein protein and therefore will both get digested slowly over the course of the night? not sure how much sugars are in the cottage cheese in comparison to the milk, but i use milk right now cause i put whey protein into it as well. that way, i get some whey right then and casein throughout the night. let me know what you guys think?

if i were you i woudnt use the protien powder. I would eat 3/4 or 1/2 cup of cottage cheese then drink a glass of milk before bedtime save yur protien powder for before and after workouts only. Try to eat more whole foods. Just my advise.

well the reason i like adding the whey to it as well is cause of the full spectrum amino profile in the whey. this gives my body more to work with during my sleep, which as i'm sure you most likely know is when your body is recuperating and could unquestionably utilize those amino's.

i use 2 cups of milk, so that's 16 grams of casein protein, and a scoop of whey, which is about 23 grams. i know this may not seem like a lot, but i take a meal in right before this about an hour or so beforehand, so i still have a decent amount of that in me as well.

milk is all sugar and may have casein but even if u drink a gallon before bed it wont last u the night, plus youll be pissin like hell. you cant beat cottage cheese before bed. some bros say whey before bed is too many fast acting cals at one time. and im not a fan of milk before bed or any sugar for that matter and im a hardgainer. ive been doing a can of chunk light tuna and 2 cups 2% cottage cheese every day before bed (i work nights) plus a tablespoon flax. i have been making good gains too...im the biggest i have ever been...without juice
anyway all that i wrote might be unorganized but hope it helps

It'd say cottage cheese is your best bet. Milk is 80% casein, and is also slower digesting but you'll get a favorable hormonal reponse from come cottage cheese and flax before bed.

    my bedtime meal is

a shake consisting of 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese, half cup of water, half cup of fat free milk, 2 tea spoons of flax seed oi, a scoop of crushed almonds, and 1 scoop of ons 100% casein protein. i just throw it all in a blender a chug it down... a teaspoon of peanut butter helps make it taste better.

I like the cottage cheese/Flax combo right before bed. Then, whenever I should wake to pee, I'll quickly slam a casein shake and go back to bed.
