    Steak? good or bad?

    i had a quick question about steak. or any kinda beef.. im trying to eat real clean. and i want to eat somthing other than fish and chicken. so i was wondering if steak was ok? and should i eat it for lunch of after i work out for dinner? or should i not include it in my diet at all? thanks

    I think it is fine if you follow a few general ideas....i do not eat it after 5pm...make sure it is extra lean sirloin ground beef...1/2 pound is plenty....or round steak...8oz....also if your dieting for a comp i generally drop it at 6 weeks out and then have it for breakfast the last day before the show...

    to be totally honest i just find it sits in my stomach and doesnt digest properly and makes me bloated the next day....but try it and feel it out for yourself...

    Red meat is a staple in my diet.

    I find that nothing builds beef like, well, BEEF!

    like i said the steak before 5pm is a personal thing not a nutritional thing...i find it bloats me and i cant shit the next three days but if you can handle it definately do it....

    beef is high protein and very EASY to eat but the Bioavaliability/protein quality is fairly low but WHO kares when u eat a 12oz steak in one sitting!

    what about steak verse. hambuger ground beef? in this case is steak a better choice if your tyring to eat clean?

    They are both "clean" items, it's just easier to control the fat portion of beef when you use ground beef. I use the 4% fat myself, and it's great.

    when i bulk i eat like 2-3lbs a day of 96/4 beef which is only 4g fat per 4 ounces. I like it. i even cut with it. just only have 8 ounces a day, and the rest is tuna or chicken breasts

    just curious as to why you dont eat bread, im currently bulking and i have 2-3 pieces of sugar free wheat toast in the morning to get some carbs

    i do this, but with plain old white buns.

    edited but its not my pro/carb, its a pro/fat/carb meal...

    Yeah, mine is called the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger from Jack in the Box!

    I eat two of those and I always want more, but I know that I have to stop because my arteries would hate me for it.
