    5000 calories...too much???

i have this friend that thinks eating over 5000 calories a day is good for him.ok well my friend weighs around 160 pounds and has not that much muscle on his frame.hes starting this bulk diet and thinks he knows everything.he drinks a whole gallon of whole milk a day,2 weight gainer shakes that he makes with milk.and only 2 meals a day.and not even solid meals.

i want to tell him that hes not going about it rite but he tends to get sad when i try to prove him wrong or tell him how to do something.hes just a big ass know it all and he cant ever be wrong.

so is this a good diet or should i actually tell him something

Terrible diet from what it sounds. He needs clean whole food. Aint gonna put on much muscle with milk and weight gainers. Fat more than likely.

If he thinks that's gonna get it done, well, let him be.

In the months to come he'll see what's up and you won't have to say a thing.

no its not too much in general.,..just for him and over 2 meals? I also have a friend that will just have like 2 gainers a day and say hes gonna get big and I just laugh. 2,000 calories of junk and your body probably won't use more than half of that.. I do a lot more when I bulk but its all clean food and spread over 8-9 meals...plus I weigh more than 160.

i think he will be fine. i was at about 150-160 as a freshman in college and i ate and ate and by the end of freshman year i was about 185, pretty cut still (and i was drunk every night). if hes 160 now he sounds like an ecto like me and fat doesnt stick to me too well no matter what i eat. im not saying it will work for him...but i am not very sensitive to insulin so i can eat more fat and have more of a dirty diet than most people. it does sound like he needs more solid food though, i didnt load up on shakes, actually i didnt use any at all, just ate a lot of shit food. he will gain weight and if he works out i think he will gain just as much muscle as he would if he ate clean as hell, just with some extra fat. and i think when he hits his plateau he will definitely need to clean it up. all this is imo

try to get him on the boards if possible...

A couple of my friends who thought I was full of sh1t listened when I showed them the multitudes of folk on here that offer their knowledge....

That's all I would bother trying to do... the rest wouldn't be worth my time, regardless

Yeah, I agree. Try and show him this thread.

He needs to know that whole foods are the way forward, especially with the body type you described.

Failing that, let him do his thing and then prove him wrong in six months.
