    Glucose during workout

    Lets say that u are bulking, is that ok to mix around 100g of glucose with your water and drink it during the workout, this way my energy levels will be always high during the workout.
    Is that ok to do it?

    good question and i hope someone smarter than me will answer, because i always make 2 shakes of 50g simple carbs 35g protein. i sip on one 15min before i start working out and during my workout, and chug the other immediantly after. sorry for slightly hijacking but it is along the same line.

    good or bad to ingest fast acting carbs and or protein during your workout?

    If you find articles by john berardi,he says thats the optimal thing to do.I do it myself as i take 20gms dex w/whey before heading to gym and drink a gatorade during.

    When I was doing whole upper body workouts without using any glucose during the actual workout my second half was terrible.One day when I was almost finsihed with chest/shoulders/triceps and gonna start back and biceps I slammed a gatorade.The back/bicep workout I had was an eyeopener!!

    I simply have a well balanced meal about 1 hour before working out.

    Drinking sugar during a workout not only can make blood sugar drop during the workout, it also takes time for the sugars to get into the bloodstream to do any good energy wise, and most importantly you greatly reduce the insulin spike you are wanting pwo when you ingest dextrose/whey.

    Do as you wish however, just my suggestions.
