I would advise you do not take this to work and let it sit un-refrigerated for that long. Yes, it will go bad.

Use almonds as your portable fat source, they don't need to be kept cold.

Yeah, I dont take my flax to work for that reason. But, I'll have carb meals pretty much all day now since I workout late at night..so its not a problem. I would try bringing some pb with you or just have tuna/mayo.

so what if the flax is unopened? will it still go bad being unrefrigerated? and out of curiousity...how long would it take for it to go bad when brought into room temp. AFTER being refrigerated?

bump - I'm curious to know about this - usually when I buy flax / fish oil at the local store - it's refrigerated. I'm in a very small town in KY (south eastern part in the appalachian mountains) now where the closest natural food store that has these items are almost 4 hours away via driving -

I called a few places online that said that their flax/fish oils either from Barlean's or Udo's for example - are shipped unrefridgerated. Is this normal?

Upon receiving the goods, I would then have to put it in the fridge - is this what most of y'all do or what? I don't think (at least I haven't found) any site that ships these oils already cold... I just arrived last week here and finally settled down - just found a gym and trying to get my food and whey / flax / r-ala / CEE in check... any input would be great thanks!

Usually the flax I buy is the high lignan cold-compressed type.
