Uncooked oatmeal
Can you eat oatmeal dry right out of the canister? I hate the texture of mushy foods. I tried to eat oatmeal cooked by adding water and I could not stand it. However, I did try some dry and I could tolerate it. I guess my question is, does it make a nutritional difference if I eat them dry? And yes I did do a search and read a few threads. They talked about GI levels, but did not give a clear answer to this question. Can your body digest the dry oatmeal and provide your body with the carbohydrates I am looking to get out of the oatmeal just as well as the cook oatmeal? Thank you

I believe it's just fine yes, if you can choke down that dry crap.

I just put some water in with it and add in a packet or two of splenda. Tastes good to me.

i like 'em raw
Sometimes i toss 'em in the oven to get 'em a li flaky.
Sometimes i just add splenda to 'em (dry) and chew on 'em.. Tastes great imo.
Mushy sucks.

Just be sure to take in increased water as the water in your intestines will be used to soak/digest the oats. I think I'd feel very bloated using the dry method

I've noticed that I get thirsty as hell when I eat raw oatmeal.

Water will be drawn into your intestines to be absorbed by the dry oatmeal one of the reasons I take mine soaked

I just recently began eating them plain uncooked (with water though). Taste good, and for some reason doesn't fill me up nearly as much when they are cooked. Maybe because they expand when they are cooked?

wow i was going to ask the same question,
Here is a good pre-workout recipe for oat and whey shake,
1/2 to 1 cup dry oatmeal (Depending on your cho intake)
2 scoops of pro
3 oz of straight espresso
water or skim
and sugar free syrup of your choice to taste.
(I really like mocha)
Its got all the macros you need plus the espresso really wakes you up.
