its a lot better than other options you could be taking. and fit the cals and mceros into teh rest of your diet plan and i wouldn't see it being a huge problem. i'm sure you could make your own sub using whole whaet bread opposed to subways wheat, and add your own healthy toppings with a nice fresh chicken breast. but yes, subway would be a better choice if you don't want to bring food with you, and u eat out.

I don't eat processed meats or bread while cutting myself, but if it works for you...........

subway should never be a staple of any diet...bulking or cutting imo, unless its a cheat meal

i think about that sometimes but what about the sodium content? i can only imagine that number...

the thing is that its impossible to know the macros of that meal unless you can ask for that info. Even then I would not trust it. When I cut I only eat what I prepare myself. Takes the guess work out of it.
Sodium isnt a issue though. Never is if you drink enough water.

well the chicken is probably 30 percent water and sodium so im pretty sure its high

Subway, being a "fast-food" restaurant, will have higher sodium/preservative content in all of their items. Also I'm sure their meats are heavily processed, lower quality, and poor-digesting in comparison to something you could buy at the grocery store. Also, by the time you add in different toppings, sauces, and cheese, the sandwich is not healthy at all. In this case, you'd be better off eating range chicken or freshly cut chicken breast from a grocery store seasoned with fresh ground pepper, lemon juice, olive oil or some other low/non-sodium choices. If you had to have bread or something bread-like...you could add whole wheat toast or you could get some whole wheat tortillas and make a healthy burrito. Most whole wheat tortillas have 80-120cals and 11-15g carbs in addition to higher fiber content.
One of my favorites is:
8oz of chicken boiled
2tbsp black olives (sliced)
1tbsp cashews (halves/pieces)
2tbsp salsa
Chop up the chicken and stirfry it in a small amount of olive oil with the cashews and black olives. While cooking, add in crushed red pepper, black pepper (grinder), and 2tbsp of salsa. Put this in a low carb tortilla, cook 3-5 egg whites to have as a side, and you're good to go.
Nutrients:
Stirfry:
277 cals + olive oil (or water depending)
42g protein
9.5g fat
13g carbs
Tortilla:
cals: 81-120 range

When I was jsut watching calories in the past, when I went to subway, sometimes I got my sandewhich on a wrap. They offer soft wheat tortilla wraps, lower in calories and carbs than the bread. Just my .02
