    high GI carb post-workout question

Hey guys, back for more questions.

Trying to cut bodyfat, currently running 150carbs with lots of protein and lots of fish oil/natty PB. Coming from a powerlifting background, we used to drink all kinds of high GI carbs during/after workout. Is it still alright while trying to lose fat to include say 30-50 high GI carbs(powdered gateraide from sams club) in with my protein shake after a workout? I have been sticking to low GI foods mostly(oats, brown rice etc..) since i'm trying to lose weight but I feel like taking out my high GI after a workout is causing me to lose muscle yet I don't wish to add additional fat. I'm willing to take out 1cup of brown rice per day and introduce 50carbs post workout if anyone thinks that is a better idea. Currently post workout is just protein and fish oils(reducing BF hopefully).

    Any help is appreciated

I have used dextrose during cutting in the past and so have many people without any problems. Now though, whether bulking or cutting I dont use any high GI carbs post workout. Just not really needed and I feel great without it and dont get that insulin crash after.

I use dextrose while cutting myself, it's a staple of mine and serves me very very well.

SC do you use it post workout? I'm kinda in the same boat as many, I lift hard, then do 45min uphill walk after workout. I used to do the high carb/protein thing, but I thought my high GI carbs after my whole workout would be pointless considering it would be 1 hour after my weights were done(considering I'd do 45min cardio, then 15min drive home). Any thoughts?

I use it pwo, yes, but I don't do cardio after weights. I do my cardio upon rising and train much later in the day. I'm not a fan of mixing aerobics w/anaerobics as they both accomplish different goals with what is ultimately a body composition change for the better.

You know much about it or it's effects? Heard great things from a few buddies who compete.. say especially during the carb-load right before a show it works wonders. Supplemented every other meal supposedly.
