Oats...a lot of empty calories?
Ok, so basically 2 cups of dry oats, 2 cups of sweet potato, and 2 cups of cooked rice all have ABOUT the same amount of carbs (75g-95g). Sweet potato has about 200 cals per cup and rice has about the same...but when it comes to oats there is 300 cals in 1 cup of dry oats. This means I eat about 600 cals worth of oats each morning. I was just wondering if these might be some bad cals or should I eat less than 2 cups? its usually eaten with like 2 scoops whey and some skim milk, maybe fruit. so my usual first meal of the day has over 1000 cals. i just realized how high it is and thought maybe im overdoing it.
6'3", 195lbs, usually always bulking in some sort of way, hardgainer shooting for about 4000 cals/day...thanks yall

1000 calories in one meal is overkill, no matter what the food choices are.
Better to lay out your plan and see what you are eating, when, how much, etc., and adjust it all from there.

To hit 4K calories/day there is no need for 1000calories in any meal.. try 600 times 7meals.
