Maybe do intense cardio once a day (like HIIT or something) and do that 3-4x a week. I also recommend that he drop his calorie intake to around 1500 while keeping protein high if he maintains doing his "cardio" twice a day and sitting at a desk. So, after a bit of arguing, he finds people to back him up and sure enough they do stating that "no male should EVER go below 1800 calories a day". I just left right there and let him be. No wonder why he's only lost 2 lbs. over the last 3 weeks...
