"On the road" diet
I play minor league baseball and we're always on the dam road in old towns with not many places to eat. I bring as much tuna, peanut butter, protein as i can but its hard to eat those meals everyday for the whole trip. i try and drink a few slim fasts to subsitute for my smaller meals and i really do my best to eat well.
i guess my question is,when in this situation, should i be in a bulking phase, just being somewhat clean and eating as much as possible?
beacuse when we stop at mcdonalds at 12 a.m after a game, i have no choice but to get something from there.
or should i stay as clean as possible and treat it more like a cutting phase? im no bodybuilder but do take pride in my body.hope this made sense

What position do you play? That may help us answer the question better as far as whether you should bulk or not. I would think you should stay relatively lean during the season.
My best advice would be to invest in some quality tupperware. I always have food precooked so that I can take it with me to work. I feel like a mother with 5 kids with the amount of shit I haul around with me, but fvck it, it's part of the game. Aside from tupperware are the obvious, tuna/chicken in a pouch or in the can, protein bars/shakes, nuts, ect. I guess jerky is ok as well, however I wouldn't make it a staple. Do you have access to a refridge??

I agree with DNo with the tupper ware. But if you can;t do it instead of mcdonlads id say go to 7-11. they sell canned protien shake by Weider for like 2 bucks 35 grams of protien. Just grab 2 of those...

I have used McChicken as a quick pro/fat meal with no problems, of course it's not the best but it works.
I bought 2 for $2 and threw the bread out and ate em up. Actually did it a few times.
Also you can try having a grilled chicken salad. There are choices out there, just be smart about it. I of course recommend the tupperware idea.***No source checks!!!***

I am a pitcher...no access to a fridge on road, and I dont think chicken can stay in tupperware unrefridgerated for those 6 and 7 day road trips right?...we're on road basically 2 weeks of every month, the season is 6 months long, so this does get to be a problem. i do it right at home then feel like i screw everything up once we go on the road

Just curious what minor league team do you play for? I play for the University of Tampa and play 3b, 2nd year.

Gotcha, no problem. Good luck with it. 6 guys from our school went into the draft. Two within the first two rounds, just wish we had a bit of a bigger school.

You're always going to be able to find a grocery store and most are 24 hours...there you can grab some chicken/tuna in a bag like DNoMac said... you can also grab some rice cakes which will obviously keep...
