    Any1 ever have DEX during w/out while cutting

    Just wondering. I might experiment with it just to see results. Start drking it right beofre and finish it right when I am done, then have a solid meal 1 hour or so later. I get no preworkout carbs and sometimes it is tough to get up for lifting.

    i used dex while cutting once, gained a ton of weight of it so i stear clear of it now.

    What kind of carbs do you get while cutting and in which meals. I have found that preworkout carbs help me keep my size but they are not needed to keep my strength.

    PRE workout, PWO, PPWO, and the meal after PPWO. Only 2 pro/fat meals.
    PRE and PPWO and the meal after PPWO are oats (1 cup) and PWO is packs of sweet tarts.
    I HAVE to have a pro/carb meal pre workout or I can't lift near my potential.

    On a personal note, I despise dextrose. I will only use it on 2 occasions. Slin usage PWO and carb refeed days. I wouldn't think of using it as part of my cutting diet. And I sure as hell wouldn't dream of using it DURRING a workout.

    just a matter of preference......tis all....I used it up until 2 weeks out 4 years ago and did fairly well in my first show.......I now use 3tb of gatorade, 25g whey, creatine and glutamine immidiately post, the another high gi when I get home, then a solid meal, then prebed meal....all within 3 hrs....aint easy but it what I do.....I do agree with you guys, never during.........sometimes Ill sip my gatorade mix with 10 minutes left....but nothing during........what liquid do you use?

    Considering you're stats, may I inquire at what level you competed at? Nothing personal, I just have trouble believing you actually competed considering you're 165lbs, 6'2", and 8%bf NOW!!

    no I dont and I apologize, like I said eariler....its all I can do..........but I just klnow many people attribute one sole cause of their fat gain rather than a good timed diet with good clean cals......coulda been that pizza, and it could been te 7oz chx instead of 5.5 oz....who knows....point was, it really isnt fair to slam a product, esp. one like dext which produces great stuff if you like it.....it makes me feel sorta crappy...why I use gaotade.

    Well, you have every reason not to believe me, however, two years ago, sitting at a decent 240 and prob. 12%, I was diagnosed with cancer. After several biopsies, treatments, etc, I came to and now am working my way back in the game. It's funny how people think stats = knowledge, but I guess they do to a point. I would never trust a skinny cook, for one, if that counts.

    On a serious note, I then did two triatholons and transitions back into my high school figure...more lean, more athletic, more of a track athlete. Now, my goal, simply because I want to shut the neysayers up, is to walk on stage again in about a year and half.

    I am cured, so need no need to sympathosize....really was just one big scare and not nearly as bad as it could have been,,,,,just made me depressed, agry and balh. Now that I am pretty lean and shredded, Im forgetting how to bulk up and quit worrying about the abs. Tis why I tarted the comp. log....mainly for my purpose and then to get some insight for you guys...I need to learn to stay out of the mirrrs and just eat my ass off before I kill myself, not from cancer, but from anerexicia. Any idea what it is like benching 3 plates for 5-6 reps one day then going to 275, then 225, then 175 and now I am fighting with 135 for 5.....its becuase Ive worn down my joints and tendons, and lost so much weight people still think I have cancer!

    So, I really do apologize if I came across as harsh. I know my shit, not afraid to toot my own horn......I can always learn more, and something still make me stop and think, but for the most part, I just need to slam the cals...make em clean...and crank the weights!

    it would be better to make room for a pre workout pro/carb meal. Just slam a banana, milk and whey shake 30 minutes pre workout or something like that.

    Lifting weights isnt realy that draining on glycogen stores to begin with. Unless you do alot of sets and reps. So drinking dex during the workout should do no difference to energy levels.

    Typically oats and whey both meals. Sometimes pre will be yams and chicken, but I prefer the whey/oats. The trick to pre workout is to find your carb source. Find one that won't crash you durring your WO and won't bloat you. When bulking, I'll occasionally throw 30g of dextrose into my PWO oats if I feel the need. I won't make it a habit though.

    I get on with oats so i used cooked oats pre and powdered with isolate for post. Felt a lot better afterwards and im still awake which is unusual ( i usually get real tired im guessing from the crash of the dex). I will only use dex with slin from now on. Thanks buff.

    will you guys give this a shot tonight? Seriously...youd be so suprised, I also dip some rice cakes in it and eat it like chips and dip......some of those new rice cakes are AMAZING!

    So most of you have prw workout carbs and 1 meal PWO of carbs? I spent a while cutting and had 0 carbs all day, then had dex pwo and rice ppwo (100 total and lost some fat but really felt depleted and very thin. Just read something by Berardi that carbs during a workout will only help during cutting.

    Let me ask everyone this, if you were gaining srength with NO carbs pre or during, would you continue with this. I think the only reason I felt frail even though strength was up was becasue I was taking RALA with both pwo meals. Maybe I should cut it back to RALA in jus the ppwo meal.

    Preliminary studies show that apre-WO mix of carbs and protein could potentiall cause more muscle anabolisim than PWO.

    Well sure, lots of guys on the board do pro/fat preworkout.
    IMO, pro/carb is the better choice...MY body responds much better and gives me more energy/bigger pump.

    dextrose is fine while cutting. many many people use it successfully and drop lots of fat including myself. and it doesnt matter if your drinking it at midnight if thats what your daily schedule looks like. if your getting fat while trying to cut just by having one measley serving of dextrose on workout days then your whole exercise and nutrition program is probably piss poorb and you have no clue what your doing. imo
