    Off Day Diet

Do you typically reduce cals or carbs on your off days? I usually train at night and this is what I was thinking for my off day......lean bulking is the goal

cardio, then fuill circuit light high rep machines 10 minutes, 20 minutes incline walk...first thing in the am.

    p/c
    p/c
p/c (total of about 150 carbs in these three meals)
    then switch
    p/f
    p/f
    pre bed p/f

    5'11, 160 - 8% trying to get to 180 without going over 10%....

When bulking, I'll reduce carbs slightly, but not much. When cutting, everything stays the same.

Am I reading this wrong, or do you only have a total of 150g carbs for these days?

1Buff, sorry to interupt, do you mean you reduce the carbs and/or cals for cutting slightly and for bulking everything stays the same? I take out my PWO meal while cutting, just curious if you do as well?

wow bro, 150g carbs while bulking? That's a good amount for cutting....
throw your bulking diet up, if you want it critiqued.

No actually, just the opposite. When bulking, I'm more likely to lower my carbs on off days. Not by much though. At most I'll cut out 50g. But when cutting, my carb levels will stay the same. My pwo is 1 cup oats w/ whey. On those off days, I'll make that my 1st meal. It is important to note that cardio is performed twice on off days when cutting though.

The carbs would be redistributed throughout the day a bit differently as well as lowered a tad, all depends on what you are trying to accomplish, how active you are during the day and if you are including Cardio whether it be bulking/cutting.

Oh ok, thanks for the clear up! My carbs are fairly close to the same as workout days, I just drop 1 meal and the cals are a little lower. Thanks!

BCAA's before bed depending on if I do cardio or not, if cardio is done it is 2.5-3hrs after last meal and then BCAA's taken 15mins post cardio then sleep. Last meal will never contains carbs whether bulking/cutting from here on out. Veg + Protein + fat only.

SO what is the consensus? If you typically train in the later afternoon and take in about 400g of carbs for the day, would you stop around 1pm, with about 200g of carbs total on your off days? first three meals go p/c, final 4 go p/f? 200-225 on off days compared to 390-420 on days?
