    trying to cut

So, I weighed myself today after a week and a half of dieting just to see where I stood. I am up 4 lbs. Now I don't really feel heavier or think I look like I've gainded weight, and my strenght has been increasing steadily. Is it common to gain a little right off the bat? Hoping its just muscle, but figured I would stay the same weight if anything.

If you're just getting back into the gym, and have just started a "consitant" and proper diet, this would not be uncommon. I'm assuming you're just starting to get back into the swing of things. Is this correct?

Use some sort of measure of your body fat, and go by that instead of your total body weight. One simple way is to keep track of your waist measurement.

ya, I took a few months off from the gym and have been back for just over a month. I was thinking that it might be muscle gained, but my diet is very clean and if anything I figured I would lose water weight. Although I have gone from 1 gallon to two gallons a day. I hate scales.

No worries Tambit. Keep with the diet. You're dropping fat, regardless of what the scale says.

Sometimes the mirror will mess with my head, like the scale, so try taking pictures... easy to compare side by side.
