I have always heard that it is best to eat your carb's early in the day. You brain is the largest consumer of carb's in your body. If you blood sugar gets too low, it may interfere with your logic processes.
I try to keep the carb's to a minimum after 5:00 PM.

Right Time
I aree with X-biker, try to keep the carbs at a mininal late in the afternoon, problem is that is useally when most people work out and they need that extra enegry. If you are not planning anything that requires you to get your heart rate up, stay away from them. Never try to eat any one large meal at one time rather cocentrate on several smaller ones. Your diet looks ok although it may get old and monotnous.Try looking up some different reciepes that catter to your specific caloric needs. Place these on 3x5 cards and on the back place all the ingredients that are required to make this dish. Plan your weeks meals out for the week and take the cards to the grocery store with you. Your grocery list will have already been made and all you have to do is replace the cards when you get back home.It does not take long to acquire a large collection which will aid you on staying true to your diet plan by eilminating the boredom of eating the same thing day in and day out.
Good luck,
Tobey

Your carbs should be higher in the morning and taper off during the day.I train around 6/7pm and have to eat carbs after the workout otherwise I feel really rough.
Just experiment what works for me may not work for you

I have heard the no carbs after 6 thing for a long time, but have not seen any research to back it up. What I have seen is the total number of carbs in a day is what matters, not when you eat them. But I am also a firm believer in doing what gets you results, so experiment.

OK no flame Big Will but there is research that shows eating carbs after a certain time may turn to fat, this is simply b,c towards the evening most people become less active and their physical activities begin to taper off.People sit down watch a bit of TV or spend time with the g,f.I consume carbs after 6 b,c I work out around 6ish
If you remain active until you sleep eat what you like if you do try and relax and chill out in the evenings taper the carbs off.

Gentleman, the reason why it has been stated that one should not eat carbs after 6:00 pm is because insulin receptor sites become less sensitive throughout the day. When these receptor sites become less sensitive, there is greater likelihood for carbs, or excess carbs, to be stored as fat. However, if you train in the evening (like I do) the most important meal of the day is AFTER YOUR TRAINING. Therefore, forget about the 6:00 pm rule. EAT PLENTY of carbs, protein and even fat.

Personally I have heard eat most of your carbs before 12:00 pm. It seems to work for me, since I have tried this, I have noticed a significant fat loss. Of course, I don't have any proof of that, I do know that if you eat carbs late in the evening, it will likely turn to fat. If you are worried about carbs and energy for your workouts and you all work out like I do at 6 or 7 pm, then I just drink a gatoraid or carb drink, and immediately go to my work out, in hopes to burn it off. Afterwards, I usually swig a couple of table spoons of Amino Acids (the liquid). Course different strokes for different folks. Seems to work for me.

1)never mix carbs and fats
2)either eat protein with fats or protein with carbs
3)carbs eaten especially when your activity level is low is not really recommended
my humble opinions...
