It does increase metabolism in a way, for example, just to digest 100 calories that come from protein, it take about 20-30 of those calories just to digest the protein and, carbs and fats carry much lower rate of digestion cost i belive it to be around 5-10%, where as protein is about 20-30%, i am not sure of exact numbers, so these ones above are as exemples only, however they fact is that the indgestion of protein does increase the the overall calorie expendature through out the day...XXL
