    Too much tuna?

    Hey guys,

I'm really worried about consuming too much mercuy when eating several cans of tuna (albacore) per day. I usually eat the small 2.6 oz cans with 16g of protein per can at least several times a week. Should I be worried? How much tuna is too much?

    THANKS

I wouldn't think so..I eat up to six cans a day and know many people that do the same...I heard the chunk light has less mercury...Not sure if that's true or not though..

I never had the envelope ones. You like those better than the cans?

I like the "mercury and arsnic" flavour. It's toxic metallicious!

Just kidding mate. I eat loads and I'm still alive. I am slightly odd though.

The Hickory Smoked BBQ is my favorite. Sometimes I get so sick of the canned tuna its hard to put down, but the "envelope" kind is way better!

I have always had a ton of tuna. If you check into the envelope tuna or even fresh tuna the murc level is lower!

Fresh tuna has more mercury than chunk/flaked light. Skipjack is the only way to go.

This is a silly attitude. There are obviously some overblown claims that can be ignored, however, there are times when it is intelligent to limit your consumption of certain foods when it is KNOWN there are contaminants in it. Use your natural intelligence to determine when concern is warrented. By saying that all warnings and cautions are useless is analagous to a ostrich sticking it's head in the ground.
