    Excel Recipe Book

How many of you would be interested if I put together a recipe book for us, so that we could find different things to try more easily.

I'll get started on this ASAP. If you've got some good Salmon recipes, send em my way, because I don't eat that stuff, so I don't know what to put about it.

1 (6 oz) filet of salmon
    1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1-2 TB extra virgin olive oil
sea salt and freshly ground pepper

Season both sides of the salmon w/ salt and pepper. (If you are a sodium nazi you can control the amount of salt used.) Sprinkle one side of the salmon w/ sesame seeds. Place an oven-proof pan over medium heat and add olive oil. When pan is good and hot, place salmon sesame side down and sear for 3 minutes. Turn off heat and place in pre-heated oven for ~ 10 mins.

I'm post easy non-bake recipecs for the most part they are decent.. but not 5 star meals.

lots of ground cumin (to taste, but usually takes a lot)
    parsley flakes
    chopped clove of garlic
    dash of salt and pepper
    little bit of curry, paprika,
and then add fresh or bottled lemon juice until you get hte desired consistancy..i like mine pretty thick so i can kinda spread it...but you can make it thinner and use it like a dressing instead. I make a bunch of it in a tubberware container and put it in the fridge; it lasts a long time.

    take 3 cans of salmon
    9 egg whites
    4 tablespoons of lemon juice
    4 tablespoons of dejon mustard
2 and a half cups of oats (i like to put my oats in a blender to get them powderish so its not so chunky as a result)

mix it all up good, can put in an electric mixer to get all the bones good and ground
and form into 11 good sized patties. i like to throw them on the george foreman grill for about 20-25 mins each to get em good and brown, i have the big one so i cook 8 at a time.

It's coming along. I only work on it while I'm at work, and for some reason ever since I started it we've been busy. Once it slows down it'll go much faster.

I don't know why but besides the ground turkey, I can't see to find 'bulk turkey' like I can chicken to purchase.

Yah, i know what you're saying. I occassionally will find packs of turkey breast, but I can never count on that. I'm actually a big fan of just getting the whole bird and cooking it up. Lasts for a good week. Dark meat for some solid protein fat meals and the white meat for the rest.

I don't know if I would be able to help with your project without duplicating a bunch of your work but I was going to add drop down menus to my spreadsheet... maybe we could make a much more comprehensive worksheet between the two of us.

the current version is not automated except the harris-bennedict stuff and adding macros, finding %'s and stuff like that but I will be adding drop downs for all the foods I currently eat so I can see exactly what I've done in a day. Here's a link to the current version with a sample of whats to come. It should be accurate for the few foods I've added (calorieking.com) and you can play with it all you want... I added a few notes to help with figuring out the layout of the page

    Example with drop downs (unprotected)

feel free to play with this all you want... If you want to use it let me know and I would love to hear any comments or suggestions to make it better

sorry... but I forgot to remove the 6th meal page which means the automated stuff at the bottom isnt going to work properly but you get the idea... Im working on fixing the formulas now shouldnt be to hard.

Disregard... its fixed now and should be a working spreadsheet. Let me know if you find any bugs

God damn it...I'm pissed right now. My work cleaned our hard drives last night and I lost everything. I'm SO ****ING PISSED.

Anyways, I'm gona start again right now....I'm gona get things going, but I have a question...If I send out a spreadsheet with a recipe block formatted, would you guys add recipes with that same format, and I can just add them in as I go?

Also, for the first page, I'm going to put in a sheet kind of like what Jaded had, but would you guys want me to go over to CalorieKing and find out macros for just the basics such as Oats, Tuna, blah blah blah and have them on a separate page so that you can add those into your diet page as well as any of the recipes you use?

    Let me know.

Copy and paste the blank format and put in info for each recipe...think of it as a blank recipe card. Than save your recipes, and let me know!
