I was recently told by someone that the best supplement/food to ingest immediately after working out is pure sugar. He stated that this could be in the form of a post workout bar that contained suger but that it also worked to simply eat a piece of candy, etc. He further stated that after a workout your muscles need this suger for recovery.
Does anyone take some form of sugar after workouts or have any thoughts on this? Thanks.
