    Replacement for Whey Protein

I am almost completely out of whey protein mainly because i waited too long

ANyway i was wondering what kind of substitutes exist instead of whey protein or protein bars... like real food?? MAybe eat a chicken breast right after a workout along with water+dextrose?? Would this be a reasonable substitute??

    What do you guys use??

Yes, even egg/casein protein would be a better source.

Slower digesting and more complete, I believe egg and milk protein actually have the highest BV (biological value) [the ability of food proteins to deposit nitrogen into muscles], where whey has been put right up there on the list but hasn't been proven to be equal other than the money that backs it and the studies that have been put out by the manufacturer's themselves.

Personally I prefer BCAA's (leucine, isoleucine, and valine). These are taken preworkout and PWO. Otherwise whole foods seem to work much better for myself than any protein supplement on the market.

pick a lean meat of your choice. The list is many.

    Or seafood.

    Or poultry.

    Mother nature's menu is endless.

i heard egg whites are abosarbed extremely fast, and i have realized thatds why when i have 10 egg whites i am hungry again an hour later....so that would be good for PWO

i ahve casein... i can use that for now

i thought casein was slow releasing.. something used ideally late at night... just like egg whites...

It isn't "slow releasing", it's slower digesting and absorbed slower than whey protein which is a positive thing.
