Lost Weight Eating 5-10K a Day
Over the summer I was eating between 5-10K a day, some how I lost weight. Now I cut down the amount i eat to 3.5-4K(barely over maintenance) a day and am gaining weight. Is it possible that my body was working so hard to digest all that excess food that it made me loose weight (actually burning all those calories to digest it)? It just seems wierd that eating less now I am able to gain weight, when eating so much before I lost.

How active were you?
You can eat 5k of cals but if you are expending more than you take in, you're gonna loose some weight.

Ithink unless you provide exactly what u were eating and what your eating now, no one will really be able to provide a true assesmeent

yeah difficult to tell from that statement alone. Still hard to believe you could lose weight hitting 10k though. maybe you have tape worms.

Bro, 5-10,000 cals of eating clean food religiously is pretty nuts. If it was extremely clean, props to you and have no clue why you wouldn't gain weight.
If it was junk food like svartur said, of course you won't gain good weight.

I didnt even think eating 10,000 calories a day was physically possible unless you were a) a Pro-BB'er on a bulking diet or b) pregnant.
Wow.

This is what i ate like half the summer it equals 5-6k
Meal 1 9am
12 egg whites 3 yolks, 2 slices of whole grain, 2 applesauce cups
Meal 2
Large Chicken Breast, 2 cups brown rice, 2 applesauce cups
WORKOUT 12pm
Meal 3
Large chicken breast, 2 cups brown rice, 2 bananas, 6 strawberries and ice water.
Meal 4
4 slices whole grain bread, 2 bananas 4-6 tbsp peanut butter 1 can of green beans
Meal 5
2 Steaks Sweet potato with ICBINB and Brown Sugar
Meal 6
3/4 tub cottage cheese and 1 10 oz can chicken 2 applesauce cups
Once I saw I wasnt gaining weight I started adding dirty calories to it, usually a half tub of Ice Cream, 2 whoppers and a shake, 6 double cheeseburgers etc. The clean always stayed the same, the dirty changed from day to day.

Either way, there's no way you should ever need that many calories, 5k-6k, to grow. Talk to B-D about it. He's consuming half of that and making very impressive gains. The right foods, at the right time, with the right training. Eating too much can be detrimental. And there's no need to ever supplement your diet with ice cream and whoppers.

I think your totals are a bit low. For example meal 4
4 Slices of whole grain= 480 calories
Peanut butter 4tbsp= 420 calories
Greenbeans= 70 calories
2 Bananas= 200 calories
That meal eaquals 1170 calories alone.
That is right off the labels except for the bananas.

1200 calories is way too much for one meal.. Try 400-600 calories/meal, your body can't process that amount of macros/sitting.
Btw the one meal that you used as an example was not a good choice, where is your protein for that meal? Balanced meals are the key, that one has half your days Fat and a huge amount of carbs, that's what we call mixing macros. The only protein you're getting is a little from the PB and bread but both are incomplete.
