Can I do this to lose fat and gain muscle

I'm 20 lbs off perfect wgt. I don't have time to do a disciplined diet, 3 kids. So I'm wondering if this will work...

    breakfast, protein shake, vitamin

lunch, huge wedge of roastbeef or turkey or chicken parm or meatballs..

    dinner, shake.

I'm on a light var cycle as well (40 to 60 mgs daily). I just want to lose weight and get strong again. The problem is my muscles are getting sore after a hard workout...too sore the next day..tell tale sign not enough carbs to feed em. What can i do?

You need to split up your diet into more meals. Try to squeese in 5 meals over the day.

Soreness and carb intake isnt realy related. You dont need to worry that soreness is a indication of eating to little.

Read through the cutting sticky and use that as a guide to design a diet based on your stats. When you have done that post it up and we can have a look at it

ohh yeah. forget about trying to add muscle and lose fat at the same time. You can with a proper workout routine add strenght while loosing fat without a problem. But its close to impossible to add any lean mass while losing fat. Just focus on dropping the fat and worry about gaining muscle later on.

If you plan well enough in advance then you can definitely eat a much more sound diet. On the plan you have above you are not eating much solid food and when you do it's a bad sandwich. That will do nothing but make you lose muscle and gain fat.

I think you need to adjust your attitude before you adjust your diet. There are no "easy" ways to get in shape. Cowboy up and do it properly!

why are you on a var cycle with that type of diet plan? and why are you on an oral only cycle in the first place? No steroids until you have a proper diet plan and are in good shape already.

Both very helpful posts. I'll look into that cutting info and make some version of a diet and let you know. Also, thanks for the info on adding lean muscle in tandem with losing fat..I figured with the var I might get away with it.

Meanwhile today I was mixing sit ups and heavy squats...lol. I never had to sweat weight before so I'm new to this nightmare I can't say I'll stop lifting...no way I can enter a gym and not do it...but I'll going 60/40 cardio.

All good advice down the line. For the record, I'm not in Horrible shape, moreover a gut...still strong arms legs ect.. It usually takes me three weeks to get back into a strong schedule..I'll check myself on the "Easy way out" diet plan..and keep the var very low dose till both diet and stamina are back.
Thanks again. I'll review a better diet plan too.

Step one.... GET OFF THE VAR. You have no business being on that without knowning and following proper diet and workout routines!

This is not a quick and simple thing that you can accomplish overnight. Lots of people on here have kids and work full time jobs as well, its a lot of work to do it and its not bad for the kids either by teaching them a better way to eat. I was raised on low fat, low sodium foods and can eat dang near anything now.

You asked for it so here it is laid out in a series of steps:
    1) GET OFF THEVAR or any roids for that matter
    2) Get a mindset to commit to this or not
    3) Read the stickies and develop diet and workout plans
    4) Post your diet and workout plans for critique
    5) Follow those diet and workout plans for a good year before even considering var or any roids again.

ROIDS ARE NOT A SHORTCUT!!! and if this was all easy then everyone would look great and there would be no fat people on earth. It takes time to do the damage to your body and put on the weight, you can expect to reverse that overnight.

    cardio cardio cardio..

one problem with var will be the back pumps.. there are not steroid sups that will help you with weight loss more than var.. i never really had alot of strength gain from it.. and i'm one of the few that like var..

looks like you are caloric deficiet with that diet, but at the same time you are also catabolic, meaning at some point everyday your body is burning up muscle instead of fat.. that's the problem with eating 3 meals..

    good luck though
