    maintenance calories

Does anyone have any experience with a diet where they eat under their maintenance level relatively long term. My maintnece according to a website although probably not 100 percent accurate but it is relative is about 2900 calories per day. I find i have trouble being vascular at anything over 2200 calories. I have messed with macros tried it all but my current diet is 2150 calories. ANyone have any experience like this where they consistantly eat considerably lower then their maintenenance calories only not on a cutting phase just more in their everyday life.

I'm not sure exactly how below my maintenance I was, but I believe I was a few hundred below. I wasn't doing cardio so I didn't experience significant weight loss/fluctuations, just didn't gain anything. I fixed my diet a few months ago and have since gained around 12 lbs and experienced pretty good strength gains. Once I hit my desired weight, I may throw in some cardio to see how it effects gains and my physique. So long as I can see my abs, I wanna keep bulking.

If your ok with not making gains as far as muscle mass/strength gains, you'll prob be ok, but I don't think you'll be adding anything staying that far below maintenance. I'd experiment with it, but personally wouldn't go more than a few hundred below maintenance unless your trying to shed off excess bodyfat. What are your stats?
