    pwo approach?

I have arginine and glutamine powder in a abundance. For post workout can i have say a banana and 5 grams of glutamine and 5 grams of arginine, and then my post post about 1 to 2 hours later thanks let me know what you guys think. This is only 10 grams of protein but 40 grams of whey doesent have this much of these esssetntial aminos so i feel this owuld be acceptable.

Nope it would not be wise to do this. Non essential Amino acids are not resonsible for protein syntheis.

Whey is much better choice. By the way over 70% of orally supplemeted glutamine is destroyed in the digestive tract. And the remaing amount that actaully makes it will simple be converted to glucose.

Ya doesnt sounds very good at all. Im not a big advocate for whey either. I use eggwhite protein powder myself with BCAA's added in as well.

you need a protein that has all the essential amino acids (complete protein) to repair muscle. its fine to add individual aminos to your shake but you need a good source of protein right after you work out.
