Protein spaced out or in a big meal?

For example the cutting sticky has 300 gms protein per day.Thats 50gms per meal.Is this amount needed every 3 hours to prevent muscle loss or could you instead eat 12 meals at 25gms protein instead.

I guess a better way to put it is.....Will muscle loss occur if you only eat one meal a day at 300gms protein?

I ask this because old world BB's would only eat 3 meals a day.

So with that in mind could I eat 25gms per 5 meals than last meal eat 175gms protein? Will I suffer muscle loss from this?Or is it a net amount for the day that counts?

If you consume excess protein in one sitting your body won't use it all. The exact number is different for each individual, but the idea is for you to have a steady stream of amino acids throughout the day.

I shoot for 40-60 each meal..Eating 12 times would be a lil ridiculous imo..

Well I wanna add 50gms more protein per day to bring my level up to 200gms.Do you guys think I should space this 50gms out across my 6 meals.....OR......should I bracket my workout with it....25gms preworkout/25gms postworkout?

Your body can only assimilate so much protein in a single sitting. There's varying opinions but the average person absorbs between 28-35g of protein per sitting give or take depending on the individual. Steroid use and an elevated nitrogen retention does allow your body to process more per sitting however.

I would do a pro carb before and after your workout..
like chicken breast and rice for preworkout and Two scoops of whey and cup of oatmeal or so..Try to keep your protein evenly spread..

Reminds me of serge nubrets eating habits. I read in a old mag that he didnt eat anything during the day. No breakfast, no nothing. In the evening he sat down and ate for a few hours straight downing 4000+ kcal in one huge meal

Eating just one meal seems ineffective. But I have personaly never noticed a difference betwen having the protein very evenly spaced out as oposed to having the brunt of the protein in 2 or 3 meals. Offcourse I have been converted to one of those that doesnt belive we need all that much protein to begin with.

I read that about Serge Nubret also.Concept very similar to the "Warrior Diet".

I tried doing the warrior diet a couple of times. Each time I never really felt well. The last time I did it was a few months back and I lost muscle and felt very malnourished. It was crazy how bad I felt and one day at work I said screw this and purchased 4 RTD protein drinks.I drank one every 2 hrs and by the end of my shift I felt so much better.

So now that you mention Serge nubret and his 4K meals I realize I may of been doing it wrong.I dont think I was eating enuff protein and the author of the book also writes that he can eat up to 3 pounds of protein in one night.Thats 300 gms protein and would be a nice amount for weightlifting purposes. My nightly meal was.........

    splash of olive oil
    one pound lean beef
    one large onion
    5 red potatoes
    one box each of frozen
    string beans
    corn
    mixed veggies

Cooked for 30 minutes in a pressure cooker
    -----------------------------------------
man the gas I would get from that

Now the thing I always wondered is how an animal such as a lion can eat a massive amount of protein in one sitting and then not eat for a few days yet still maintain their muscle mass.I would imagine that evolution would have designed the human body to handle protein as it does carbs.By that I mean a way to store excess for future use.I could of sworn I stumbled onto a sight that said that excess aminos are stored in the liver for future use.

I beleive that the body does not have the capacity to store protein in the same way that it stores carbs & fat.

Hence the need to ingest protein every 3-4 hours.

And BEFORE YOU JUMP ON ME. I know that your body can convert protein to carbs/fat - it just cannot store protein as protein for later use.
