Your PWO shake
Do you
a) drink dextrose + whey (2:1 ratio) in water
b) not consume carbs until maybe an hour after workout
i ahve come across two schools of thought on this one
The first one a) is to spike insulin and since insulin is so anabolic most of the carbs get used in building muscle. (best explained by the insulin profile on this website)
But on the other hand i have met people who are experienced biochemists who have years of training experience consuming BCAAs and protein (something to that effect) since the insulin spike created by consuming simpel carbs after workout suppresses natural GH levels. Low GH levels = less repair.
What are your thoughts on this? Do the different approaches cater to different needs? The biochemist who follows the latter approach trains for strength only.

I use waxy maize...it is THE SHIT. it fills you out like no other and keeps you full for a very long time with a bit of a "pump" effect. It is a high molecular weight complex carbohydrate, this means that instead of sitting in the gut, waiting to get digested, the heavy nature of the molecule causes it to get sucked right down into the small intestines for IMMEDIATE absorption. Eventhough it is a complex carb, it drastically spikes insluin (which is good PWO) due to its expedited absorption rate.
Here is an article on it, it is written by Justin Harris...One of the TOP contest prep and offseason gurus in the game:
http://www.muscular development.com/...t/view/67/54/\ (you have to back space btween the words "muscular" and "development" for the link to work...it wouldn't let me post the link if I didn't post that space there for some reason.
One instance proving the "awesomeness" (lol) of this stuff is, I did some experimenting with it on my own and I used it once everyday (two scoops...80grams) for two weeks. My weight went up about 7 lbs and I felt full as shit all day long with great pumps in the gym. Then, after the two weeks, I dropped the waxy maize from my diet completely and replced that one meal with 80grams of oats, other than this, my diet stayed the EXACT same (always does).....I ended up dropping 5 lbs within two days. This, to me, is proof of how efficient this product is at being absorbed and pulling water into the muscle causing the muscle to "swell". I am a frim believer of cell volumization (drawing water, electrolytes, and nutrients into the muscle cells) in order to maximize growth and this stuff does just that.

PWO I take whey, dextrose, malto, L-Glutamine peptite along with a multivitamin and R-ALA.
Do most of you take it with water or skim milk?
I prefer skim milk, but since the consensus is that water is much better as it absorbs much quicker, I dillute the shake in about 1L of water. Mind you, taste wise, I'll take a thicker PWO shake with skim milk over water anytime.

I have a small protien shake, and eat some solid food with it.
I LOVE bananas mixed in my PWO shake, and I like eating some fish or chicken with it. Some salmon PWO is awesome.

Depends what time I work out. If earlier in the day, I have whey + dextrose around 1:1 (and maybe a little bit of oats). If later just whey and oats 1:2

What kind of BCAA's are you guys taking? And would it be safe to take waxy maize with some R-ALA about 1/2 hr after a HGH shot? I usually take isopure/dextrose PWO. But now that I'm taking HGH I've left out dextrose.
Thanks
Micro
