Red face Food VS Liquid Nutrition - Input welcomed

I have a clean intake of calories. The problem here is that 80% of my carbs, fats, and proteins come from quality supplements and not actual food.

I need you pro's out there to kick my ass back into eating real food again.

I'm a bit afraid, bodybuilding means the world to me. I feel like I have total control over my calories if I have them in a shake VS making a meal out of it. I have 2 solid clean meals a day. The rest is liquid nutrition. I feel like I'm gaining bf and I'm not too happy with my progressing build even though everything number wise is on. What's the deal?

I'm on a sus/deca/t-bol cycle right now and I would like to maximize the benefits of gear.

    Thank you for your input.

make up a strict diet on paper with what exactly you are going to eat and when you are going to eat it. you got to motivate yourself man but if you have it on paper it should be easier to follow. post your full diet and goals on here and we will help you critique it.

Exasctly..you have control over what your macros are even with solid food...write it down, pout it on the fridge and don't deviate from the plan. Post what ya come up with and we can go from there...besides advice...you do get support from this board bro...

Right now I'm taking in mostly complex carbs.

    I'm on:
Pro Complex Gainer by Optimum (post workout and maybe one other time during the day)
100% Whey Protein by Optimum (As needed during the day)
Probolic-SR by MHP (usually pre-workout and before bed time)
Vitargo CGL by Nutrex (pre and post workout)

I eat about every 1.5-2.5 hours. All Day long, untill I go to bed. I weight the food I do eat on a scale. I work from home so I stick to this pretty well. My biggest concern is that I take in too many supplements and not enough solid food.

Basically in one way or another I have about 2 solid meals a day and the remaining 4-6 meals are in the form or a shake.

I do blend raw oats in my whey-only shakes.

I'm even an egg drinker (ya raw eggs) 8 whites every morning. (no long threads about how I'm going to die from this guys, I'll live)

No problem with solid food. Again, I just wanted to get input on the pros and cons of Liquid VS solid.

For me Liquid Nutrition is very important for me.The latest research has demonstrated that liquid supplemental formulas containing fast digesting protein (whey hydrolysates and isolates) and carbohydrates (dextrose and maltodextrin) are absorbed more quickly than whole food meals.

To put this into perspective, a liquid post-exercise formula may be fully absorbed within 30 to 60 minutes, providing much needed muscle nourishment by this time. However, a slower digesting solid food meal may take 2 to 3 hours to fully reach the muscle.

The faster the protein and carbohydrates get to the muscle, the better your chances for muscle building and recovery. Current research has demonstrated that subjects receiving nutrients within one hour after exercise recover more quickly than subjects receiving nutrients three hours after exercise. Liquid nutrition is making more sense, isn't it?

Saying this one must still have 6 proper meals per day, whether bulking or cutting.......

Thanks Goose - So you would put most of the emphasis on post workout for liquid nutrition and focus more on solid food for the rest of the day?

Exactly bro.I have 4 shakes per day but they contain,Creatine Ethy,Colostrum (which is the bet protein ever),Leucine,Glutamine and Histidine.I think 2-3 liquid nutrition per day is good, but as I said still have your proper 6 meals per day

Well, if you are worried about putting on extra bf, I would post your current diet with all macros included. Depending on the size of your meal, and the fact you are eating every1.5 hours, you might be taking in too much of something...

I know quite a few amatuer bb'ers who consume alot of their calories from liquid rather than solid food but they follow a rule of solid meal, liquid meal, solid meal, liquid meal and so on rotating them....they stick with their PWO shake, followed by a solid food meal as well and build around that...maybe that could work for you, but I do think only 2 meals a day containing solid food is not quite enough. I mean if you're seeing results and works for ya...than good...but if your not filling out, or able to gain or looking flat than something would need to change.

Right on. Can you expand a bit on the stuff you include in your shakes? Maybe share some brand names. Thanks Man.
