    sugar in my whey

i have been drinking around 2 shakes a day for the last 6 weeks each shake contains around 2.6g of sugar, so thats around 5.2g of sugar daily from my shakes alone. is there any acceptable amounts of sugar you can consume (apart from pwo) as part of your diet or is best avoided all together and find a shake without any sugar?

if you where counting sugar as part of yur daily marcos what will it be counted as, fat or carb?

sugar would be a carb... In regards to your question, everybody is different and you wont get an absolute answer.

I try to find whey with the smallest number of sugar and fat as I can. Most will have a small amt of each..it doesnt necessarily have to be 0.

When Im really strict about cutting ill get isolate (no fat/no carbs) but thats really unnecessary..the 2g fat and 2/3g of sugar will be barely enough to really notice anything

one of my shakes i take before i go bed, with that amount of sugar 2.6g are you saying that it is not enough to cause an insulin spike, is there a way of finding out how much sugar it takes your own body to consume before an insulin spike happens?

You can go here www.trueprotein.com and blend your own on the 'custom mix page' if you are going to get this specific about your powder. You can read up on about 15 proteins that you can blend together (or not) and buy. After you choose your custom blend, simply choose 'plain' at the bottom of the page when it asks you which type of sweetner you want. Otherwise, choose a good brand at a good price and keep incorporating it into your diet. Many members here favor ON whey and I like Pro Complex which is also made by ON.

I don't think 2.6g is going to do anything neglible, as long as the rest of your diet is on-par.
