Help picking a good starting diet.

I've only posted here a few times so far and have gotten great feedback and advise. I came to this site for info on jucing and got educated on how my "SUCKY, lol sm" diet is what is holding me back. I read the stick on bulking and got great info on how it actually works and figuring what I need to bulk. Now I need to figure how to get it. Sorry, I'm kinda a slow learner. Need lots of help when it comes to using my weakest musle, my brain. Really though, using my BPM I need 2293.5 cal a day to stay the same size. 6'1 140lbs 29yrs old. I really don't have many dislikes when it comes to food so this should be easy, but what should I be eating to stay healthy while I gain? I don't want to get to my goal then die from a stroke! Obviestly egg whites, tuna, beef exc. but is there thing I should steer clear of? Other than fast and junk food? I've seen a few examples for diets for larger guys, can someone help me make up a good one for my size? Oh, 1 more thing. Should I stay away from BBQ, Hot sauce & other condiments? Thanks for the time and help!

eat what you like whole eggs, lean beef, chicken, lean pork, fish, lots of veggies, beans, oats, sweet potatoes, corn, peas, lots of fiber etc etc.
on the condiments just read the labels, watch out for too much sodium. get light versions if available. as long as you eat lots of veggies and fiber you should stay healthy. shoot for 30-40g of fiber. good luck.

Thanks SUX, but how do I know what too much sodium is? The fiber counter acts the sodium? One more question, hope I'm not getting annoying, is there a chart or something I can use to get a good idea of the cal & protien I'm getting from foods? Thanks guys.

things like beef jerky, soy sauce, are loaded with sodium, one is ok, 5 is bad.
fiber helps you digest food, keeps you full longer, and keeps you regular.
fiber is over looked by many, get plenty.
Google what ever you want to eat and they will have the nutritional breakdown.
hope this helps! no you not annoying, keep asking its the only way you ll learn.

you need to run those calories through the harris benedict equation to tell you your cals need for putting on mass, this would make cals needed nearer 3400. Adjust cals as you go to see how many works for you. Stay away from any processed foods including shop bought sauces as they are loaded with sugar, trans fats and other crappy chemicals. Oats, Brown rice, Sweet potatoes are good complex carb sources. Fresh fruit in moderation. Plenty of fresh varied veg. Lean protein sources chicken, white fish, turkey, pork (lean cuts) Cottage cheese light
Fatty pro sources (i like to use this for last meal at night steak, mince salmon, Cottage cheese.
Good fat sources Flax oil, nuts, olives, salmon, mackeral, Fish oil caps. Seeds.
