Energy Drinks
What are all your thoughts on energy drinks? Are they OK or should one stay away from them? Some of them make me feel like they are slight thermogenics but they seem to give me energy so I have been drinking them in the morning.
I just dont want to drink them in the morning if they are going to work heavily against me. I've been lowering my weight and bf% and dont want to have more factors working against me.

I use a zero carb - zero sugar - zero fat energy drink that has products like cafeine, taruine, ginko biloba, enchincea (sp?), etc. and I think it cannot hurt, but I am no expert. I drink it because it quenches my desire for a pop and has cafeine to wake me up and get me going without drinking a pop or coffee (which I cannot drink). Someone else might have other comments, but a zero carb, zero sugar (artificially sweetened with Splenda) product should not hurt you. It is part of the ingredients from the old ECA stack and cafeine has several positive benefits for bodybuilding.

I saw a program that drinking those will cause diabetes, but then again we all know how the media likes to exagerate on things we like to do.

I would steer clear. Loaded with chemicals and crap. If you want a thermo or something for energy then buy the real deal, its probably cheaper in the long run too.

They are acidic but occaisonally I go for the Blue Rockstar's No Cals or carbs, and 120mg of caffine per serving of 8 Ounces... I was a huge Diet coke drinker until i learned what i was doing to myself. Find the post Cut Diet Coke Cut Weight it explains it in detail. However i still like the feel of soda so thats as close as i get to it. Other than the acidic factor it wont really do much to you. (Im sure there is a study out that will show how its bad but havent seen it yet) However i would be careful some of them are LOADED with Sugar

I love Monster's Low Carb Energy Drink. 5 cal I think and 0 sugars. You can purchase a 24 pack at Costco for like $26. I drink one every morning and it lasts all day. I also like Tab with has like 10 cal and 0 sugars but a little more expensive.
I cannot see why these drinks could harm you unless you are drinking the Red Bull or Monster drinks WITH sugar. No sugar, low cals, and caffeine = guilt free pleasure for me....
