    Clean food lowers testosterone levels

Mate of mine planned out a clean diet to do then after, he bought a flex mag and it says in there that eating a complete clean diet lowers your natural testosterone levels so only being 18 he would rather avoid this as there is still a few years untill he stops growing. What you guys think about it?

What do you mean by a clean diet? No beef or milk products? I've heard that those have steroids in them and raise hormone levels in humans. Other than that I haven't heard anything about other foods raising or lowering test levels. Very interesting.

If your friend is 18 then his hormones should be through the roof.

Does anybody know if very healthy eating will lower test levels?

This is what it says- RELYING ON DIET FOODS
To get ripped to the bone, need turkey breasts, chicken reasts, fish and egg whites. Those are the protein sources with the fewest calories. You also need alot of veggies to carb your appetite. The problem for many missguided mass seekers is that they eat diet foods during a mass gaining phase in hopes of maintainig low levels of bodyfat. What really happens? They offten fail to add any significant amout of muscle mass. Why? Testosterone. Eating minimal fat (as from the aforementioned lean protein choices) can cause a drop in testosterone levels. Surprisingly, high-fiber veggies can actually interfere with testosterone metabolisam as well, which leads to "so-so" rather than "wow!" gains. Ditch the diet proteins for lean beef and whole eggs mixed with egg whites (eat half whole eggs andhalf egg whites-if you eat six eggs at breakfast, toss out three of the yolks). Dont be afraid to include low fat yorgut, milk, chesee and cottag cheese in your diet. Your recovery and ability ,growth and results will be happy you did.

    Very Ture, Great Post!

Im a BIG believer in two "Power" Foods Egg Yolks and somewhat lean beef/steaks (like a porterhouse or Ny strip)

its the cholesterol in these foods that all of your hormones are made.

In fact I read somewhere old time strength and bodybuilders called steak and red meat the "Steroid before Steroids were invented."

My fav thing after a big leg day is a fat steak with a little veggies. try it out I garuntee you'll feel alot more recovered the next day. (if you get enough sleep that is)

What flex considers a clean bulk is not what I consider a clean bulk. They're talking about people avoiding fats while bulking, if done properly (just like cutting) one would include the proper ammount of fats in their diet. And I'd like to see the study showing that fiberous veggies lower test levels. If anyone has access to it, please link me.

    ^^Flex is filled with misinformation.

It is true that a diet too low in saturated fat and cholesterol will result in decreased hormonal input.

What is distinctive is 'too low'.

A clean diet does not mean that the fat intake will be low.

'Clean' refers to the abscence of junk food: i.e. highly processed foods.

    Not beef; eggs etc.

So don't buy into the bullshit.

This does make some since, but once again it boils down to the right balanced diet :P
